This week in our We Are Here Recipe Series, we’re sharing a healthier twist on a classic candy bar!
This “Healthy Snickers” recipe combines dates, nut butter, and dark chocolate for a delicious treat that you can feel good about enjoying.
Healthy Snickers Recipe
- 12 dates
- 4 tbsp nut butter (for fun flavors, we love @abbysbetter)
- 4 tbsp peanuts
- 1 bar dark chocolate (we love @hukitchen)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- Sea salt
Instructions:
- Cut a slit in each date and remove the pit if necessary.
- Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a glass bowl in the microwave in 20-second increments. Stir in between until fully melted (about 1-2 minutes).
- Spoon 1 teaspoon of nut butter inside each date.
- Add ½ teaspoon (or more to taste) of peanuts on top of the nut butter.
- Roll the dates in the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with sea salt and place in the freezer.
- Once frozen, store in a sealed container in the fridge. Enjoy within two weeks!
