Healthy Snickers

This week in our We Are Here Recipe Series, we’re sharing a healthier twist on a classic candy bar!

This “Healthy Snickers” recipe combines dates, nut butter, and dark chocolate for a delicious treat that you can feel good about enjoying.

Healthy Snickers Recipe

  • 12 dates
  • 4 tbsp nut butter (for fun flavors, we love @abbysbetter)
  • 4 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 bar dark chocolate (we love @hukitchen)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • Sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Cut a slit in each date and remove the pit if necessary.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a glass bowl in the microwave in 20-second increments. Stir in between until fully melted (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Spoon 1 teaspoon of nut butter inside each date.
  4. Add ½ teaspoon (or more to taste) of peanuts on top of the nut butter.
  5. Roll the dates in the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt and place in the freezer.
  7. Once frozen, store in a sealed container in the fridge. Enjoy within two weeks!
